Popular TikTok User "WorldOfTShirts" Has No Advocate After Mother's Death But Desperately Needs One
Viral Star in Crisis: Can 'WorldOfTShirts' Overcome Tragedy Surrounded By Wolves?
The concept of a “lolcow” is nothing new.
The term is described by UrbanDictionary as “a person… laughed at for actions that they take, despite not trying to be funny. They may try to take themselves seriously, but are often ‘milked’ for laughs with or without their knowledge”.
Popular lolcows can include Boogie2988, Christine Weston Chan, WingsOfRedemption, and reprehensible abuser Daniel Larson. There are varying degrees of lolcows, some more well-known than others while others remain more niche.
Enter 22-year-old, Joshua Block. Josh started on TikTok in 2019, uploading videos of himself dancing and reviewing boba teas, garnering a wholesome and supportive viewerbase in general.
Josh was propelled into fame with a video at Times Square in New York where he was singing “Empire State Of Mind”. Josh became known for creating random, “out of left field” content - but his content lately has gotten increasingly concerning.
Josh’s recent videos have featured him in his “signature” sea captain hat, bashing down alcoholic drinks - vodka, Twisted Tea, or strong cocktails, one after the other.
I won’t highlight Josh’s erratic behavior or the irresponsible content he's been creating - not to mention the reckless and unhealthy behavior he’s exposing himself to…
Another TikTok account, WorldOfAlcoholTracker, was created for tracking Josh’s alcohol consumption, and roughly estimated Block’s blood alcohol level was around 0.38 back in late November of last year.
The DailyBeast details that Josh reportedly has autism which explains why he is making such poor decisions. Although he is a young adult and is legal to drink, he is a person “on the spectrum” and falling prey to misguiding influences.
The closest thing to an “advocate” Josh has for himself and his life is Jason Itzler, who goes by “Mr. Based” online.
Itzler, according to his Wikipedia page, has been imprisoned for money laundering, drug charges, and prostitution.
This isn’t to say Joshua is dumb or stupid or that he would normally need help. However, in November of 2019, Josh lost his mother from cancer. His mother was arguably the best influence and advocate Josh had.
Mr. Based is not an adequate or suitable replacement for an advocate in Josh’s life - but that doesn’t exactly need to be stated.
His father, as of 10 months ago, was in rehab for alcoholism. His brother purportedly moved out of state after their mother’s death (and though an unverified Reddit comment isn’t the best source), Josh has allegedly said his brother is schizophrenic and that they’ve only seen each other a few times over the years since 2019.
Josh has been threatened with rehab time and time again and then will be seen days later drinking. It is of no exaggeration to say that those around Josh are using him for content, views, and money.
People have confronted Josh and told him why his behavior and choices aren’t benefitting him - but it doesn’t seem to affect Josh.
TikTokers have gained notoriety for excessive drinking, became famous for it, and died from it. The fact that the internet age has made a spectacle out of this sort of extreme, reckless, self-destructive behavior is abhorrently disgusting and Josh shouldn’t be another victim of it.
The incidents listed above do not cover Josh’s recent antics, but believe me - the footage is out there. People seem more than willing to point a camera in his direction over protecting and helping him get his life back under control.
