Kamala Harris Mimics "Southern" Accent in Detroit But Speaks Normally in Pittsburgh - Is This A New Low In Respect For African American Voters?
From Detroit to Pittsburgh - How Kamala Harris' Accent Shift Is Raising Eyebrows
Earlier this week on Labor Day, Kamala Harris gave two different speaking engagements in two different cities with two very different accents.
There are some crying foul, saying there’s much ado about nothing in this situation. For instance, Peter Doocy of Fox News asked White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about Kamala’s “southern accent” - with Jean-Pierre claiming she had “no idea” what Doocy was talking about.
Doocy pressed the White House Press Sec further, detailing:
“She was talking about unions in Detroit using one tone of voice…and it sounded like she… had some kind of a Southern drawl.”
After Doocy explained that Kamala’s accent was not present during her time speaking in Pittsburgh on the very same day, Jean-Pierre refused to engage any further.
Jean-Pierre also made Doocy seem like he was crazy for even asking the question in the first place, asking him if he believed Americans thought the matter was important and retorted that the real issues Americans cared about was the economy, lowering costs, and health care.
Jean-Pierre fails to mention that the economy Americans are struggling under, the costs that need lowered, and health care reform desperately being needed comes as a result of either the Biden administration or Democrat policies.
If Americans are worried about the economy and lowering costs, then why has nothing been done over the past 3.5 years to alleviate it?
What Jean-Pierre - and anyone writing this off as nothing - lacks understanding is that Kamala’s use of a “southern” accent in Detroit and then speaking later in the day with no accent or “twang” to her voice in Pittsburgh is not only disrespectful, it’s derogatory.
It’s no exaggeration to say Kamala spoke as if she was preaching, or even being spiritual, in Detroit when she knew scores of African American voters are most likely to be in attendance of her rally.
Juxtapose her behavior in Detroit with her tone and cadence in Pittsburgh later in the same day… No twang, no southern drawl, no spiritually-charged evocations to be found during Kamala’s time speaking in Pittsburgh.
In Detroit, Kamala’s “you betta thank a union memba for…” turned into a timid “thank unions for…” in Pittsburgh when she knew she was speaking to a majority of white voters.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time the Harris campaign has outright disrespected African American voters - with her first ever rally featuring a Megan Thee Stallion twerk-a-thon concert in Atlanta (another area heavily populated by African Americans).
All of this would be funny if it weren’t so sad. Kamala Harris is masquerading as something she’s not, speaking with a southern drawl and enunciating her words like Looney Tune’s character, Foghorn Leghorn would when he got worked up about something.
It is not only completely disingenuous to speak with a southern, country-fied twang when holding a rally in an area she knows is populated with African Americans, it is also extremely derogatory of Kamala to think pandering with an accent will garner more votes from them as if no one will notice how utterly reprehensible her behavior and true character really is.
