DNC Midweek Roundup: The Biggest Gaffes And Blunders Making Headlines
Unpacking and analyzing the first days of the Democratic National Convention
The Democratic National Convention started on Monday in Chicago - with prominent speakers including Hillary Clinton, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Kamala Harris, and Joe Biden (among many others) taking the stage so far.
Even in just the few days since the DNC has started, there are already a number of noteworthy gaffes and head-scratching moments to dissect.
CNN’s Jake Tapper was on-air for the first night of the DNC, giving insights on how he believed voters felt toward Biden:
“That fear about [Biden]… speaking is gone. Joe Biden… would come out… and they would… hope he didn’t say something meandering or off message or addled. She [Kamala] is not… somebody that is going to cause… that tension that we used to feel in the media, all Americans, when the President would come out and speak”
Tapper wasn’t the only one to comment about Biden, with Jill Biden getting in front of the crowd to shamelessly lie too, claiming that Biden had to “dig deep into his soul and decide to no longer seek re-election” as if he wasn’t ousted from his party and administration after 50 years of service to them.
Not only did Joe’s DNC speech get pushed to nearly midnight, but the media is now labeling Biden as “shouting” and “angry”, saying his final speech disgraced his lasting legacy.
The New York Post even points out that Democrats lined up numerous speakers to push Biden’s speaking engagement as late as possible, so less people would see it.
In Biden’s DNC speech, he falsely claimed:
“During the pandemic, Kamala and I helped states and cities get… their schools back open”
However, this is simply not the truth. A DNC ad from 2020 attacked Trump for wanting to re-open schools. At the height of COVID, Democrats ran on school closures. Democrats are responsible for schools being closed and forcing elementary school students to use face masks.
Other speakers for the first night of the DNC included Mallory McMorrow, a Michigan state senator that warned Trump could “weaponize the Department of Justice to go after his political opponents”.
Does she mean like Kamala Harris and the Democrats are currently doing to Trump?
McMorrow took the DNC stage and outlined Trump’s supposed plan for his Presidency, Project 2025. Nevermind that Trump has unequivocally disavowed any ties to it - as evident by McMorrow, facts don’t matter if you already know you’re spreading misinformation and lies.
Along with this unsurprising example of leftist projection, the President of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), April Verrett, also vowed to “build a darker, hipper, sneaker-wearing labor movement” to the crowd.
On SEIU’s website, Verrett is described as having an “unshakeable belief in the power to make change when we come together across race”. It doesn't sound like Verrett is coming together across race at all but instead being discriminatory and prejudiced against skin color.
As the second day of the DNC started off, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear claimed JD Vance’s relatives should be impregnated from rape to “make him go through” it. Beshear has refused to apologize and doubled-down, claiming Vance is just trying to be a victim.
Bernie Sanders spoke the second night of the DNC, calling out the state of the Democratic party directly, saying:
“Billionaires in both parties should not be able to buy elections, including primary elections”
It’s not a stretch to say Sanders is referencing the fact that Kamala Harris won no primaries and has received absolutely no votes from the American people to become the nominee of the “Democratic” party.
Harris was installed and is propped up artificially by the media, the same tactic they tried with Hillary Clinton in 2016 - when they pushed Sanders out of the primaries and gave the nomination to Hillary instead to face against Trump.
Regardless, Sanders wins no respect or reputation from this because he still endorses Kamala all the same in the end.
Surprisingly, Raymond Lopez - a Democratic member of the Chicago City Council - also called out the Democratic party live at the DNC after being asked if he believed the Democrats were winning any new voters at the convention.
Lopez said he didn’t believe so, and that his party wasn’t interested in talking about things that mattered, like the worsening border crisis and undocumented immigrants coming into the country with the potential to sway Presidential elections.
In his DNC speech Tuesday night, Obama directly focused on Trump, calling him “dangerous” and not only undermined Trump’s successes but his entire administration’s accomplishments.
Whether Obama likes it or not, Trump’s administration worked and fought for average citizens and put America first. Last I checked, Trump didn’t drone strike two innocent westerners during his Presidency - but Obama did.
Later this evening, Tim Walz is set to give his acceptance speech for the vice presidency with Bill Clinton and Pete Buttigieg set to speak also.
Thursday, Kamala Harris will accept the party’s nomination for President.
Leading up to the Democratic National Convention, Harris has tried to bargain with voters…
On day one of her administration, she’s offered vague promises of “bringing down prices”. Within a hundred days, she’s shared plans of a price-gouging ban targeting grocery stores to fight inflation.
Don’t worry, though, Kamala says that “Bidenomics” is totally working - but if it was, why would she need an action plan to combat inflation within the first 4 months of her administration?
Kamala Harris is campaigning on the promises of fixing the Biden administration despite already being part of it for the last 3.5 years.
Harris has been part of the problem for close to 4 years now and is telling voters to put her back in the White House so she can fix the mess created by the administration she’s currently part of.
With Joe Biden stepping down from his re-election campaign and vacationing in California after his bitter DNC speech, isn’t Kamala already the one in charge?
If she can’t offer any solutions before the November election to struggling Americans, why would she be able to offer it afterward if she’s granted another 4 years?
